CrossFit used to scare me. My husband Luis got into it a few years ago at another box and encouraged me to give it a try. At the time I was a member at Powerhouse gym and was perfectly content using exercise machines and attending Zumba and Body Pump. When we moved from downtown I needed a new gym to join so Luis once again recommended CrossFit. Together we looked at places online and based mostly on location and class times decided on Jaguar. I'm so happy we did!

My first impression was really good. I was happy to find it was a woman owned business with a lot of female members. Kim, Melissa, and all the other strong ladies are such an inspiration. I found all the trainers to be extremely knowledgeable and personable. Except Jonathan.

Every time I make it to class and get through a workout, I consider it an achievement. We all know that to get better at anything takes consistent practice, so I just keep showing up! My favorite achievement so far though has been rope climbs. It feels good being able to do something you never really thought you could.

Right now I'm working on continually improving. I enjoy learning the technical aspects of the lifts and little by little I'm increasing the weight. It's exciting to feel myself getting stronger. One day I may even be doing pull-ups!

My favorite Jaguar memory is coming to watch battle of the boxes last year. I had never been to a CrossFit competition and loved the excitement! It made me see that CrossFit is more than just a workout. It's a community. Go Jaguar!
