After having 3 children within less than 3 years, "fitness" took a back seat to raising babies for a few years (while also working full time). It took until my boys were 3 or 4 yrs old before I was able to start easing back into an exercise routine. I was going to a regular gym, but my husband decided he wanted to try Crossfit. After a couple of months of him telling me how great it was, I finally decided to try it, and I was hooked! I had never stuck with a consistent exercise routine for very long in my life, but I've now been a religious crossfitter for 3 years. About 8 months ago, I came to Crossfit Jaguar from my previous box, as I'd heard some terrific things about the coaches and hoped it would be the right fit to help me better reach my goals. So far, it has only exceeded my expectations!

I was immediately impressed by the knowledge displayed by Jaguar's coaching staff. All of the coaches are so engaged with the members, willing to help, and not afraid to call you out if you aren't doing something right! That's exactly what I needed and they've all truly helped me grow so much as a crossfitter since I joined! I could also tell what a tight knit group the members were (with some crazy personalities that keep me amused for days!!), and it's been amazing to get to know everyone and be welcomed into "the Jaguar family"!

In my pre-Jaguar Crossfit experience, I was definitely lacking in some technical direction and know-how. Thanks to the coaches at Jaguar, so many little things have just "clicked", it's hard to even remember what came first or decide what's the biggest "bright spot"! Barbell Club has been awesome. I think I've PR'd almost every major lift since I started here. One of my biggest frustrations before coming to Jaguar was my hang clean, and so I think the first bright spot that stands out would be when I hit a 135# hang clean during my 2nd round of barbell club (I had done a comp in February where I had to fight for 115#). Barbell Club is really helping me work on my Oly goals, especially trying to improve my clean technique. Also, I'd love to get a muscle-up before the next CF Open starts. I am about to start a 4-week training program to work on that.

It's hard to choose a favorite Jaguar memory... so many good ones! The workouts are brutally awesome, but all the fun and games after and around the working out are what make it amazing. I think my favorite memory would have to be our impromptu game of Crossfit Jaguar Ladies' Stickball that came about after a random Saturday (or maybe a holiday?) WOD. Where else can someone throwing a random scrap of paper at someone else lead to a dozen or so ladies grabbing wooden sticks, running bases and jumping over boxes playing a hardcore game of ball around the gym!
