Holly was introduced to CrossFit by her coworker Nicole. She invited her to come with her on “Bring a Friend” Saturday. After some convincing she decided to go. At first she was scared of CrossFit and thought it was way out of her league. But, she sweat more and worked harder on that Saturday than she ever had before. She also felt really accomplished... And Holly still has that impression of CrossFit. Rather than being scared she’s learned to embrace the fear in a way. Now she understands that in order to get stronger and get better she has to push harder and do the work, even when it seems intimidating. More often than not Holly ends up finding out she could do more than she realizes.

Holly’s first big achievement was doing a headstand on her own. It was the first time she rang the bell and wrote her name on the “Shout Out and PR” board. She had never done anything like that, even when she was a kid, so to have that accomplishment during adulthood was pretty awesome.

Right now Holly is working on a couple different things. Mobility has been a big focus for here. She’s also working on kicking up into a handstand on her own. Holly has had multiple favorite memories with her Jaguar family. One of her favorite memories was watching some of our members compete in Rebel Throwdown. It was her first competition experience, and also when she learned how tight our community was. Holly realized the enthusiasm we use to cheer on our members during a competition was the same enthusiasm we use to encourage each other during a WOD.

She always appreciates the encouragement, and it showed her the value of encouraging others.
