*Update*

Brian's friend Chip had been coming to CF Jaguar for about 2 years; had made huge gains in his personal fitness and convinced him to join and take the on-ramp class. He was in
decent shape, but at almost 40 years old, Brian needed/wanted to try something new, and see if I liked it.

He made a decision to give it two months and lost 15 pounds in the first 6 weeks. Brian went from 190 lbs to 175 lbs and at that point, he was hooked...

"My first impression was, this is difficult, and I am not sure that I want to work this hard, but that quickly changed...between the quick weight loss, and the competitive, but extremely supportive atmosphere, I quickly realized that CF was exactly what I needed to be doing to improve my health and fitness.  I can't wait to workout everyday and I am unhappy when I can't make it to the "box" on a particular day, and that wasn't the case when I when I went to the gym in the past.

I have many achievements that I am proud of, but if I had to single one out, it was the first (and second) time I ran the mile for time.  Disclaimer...I hated running, and if you asked me to run a mile on my own, before CF, I would not have done it.  I had no idea that I was a decent runner (for distance), and the first time I ran the mile for time (in my entire life) was about a year ago at CF Jaguar, and I ran it in 6:13, and then six months later ran it again at 5:40...That morning, I told Paula, my goal was 6 minutes, and she held me to it, but never did I think I could beat that goal by 20 seconds.  I felt like, at 41 years old, a 5:40 mile was pretty good, and something I would have never thought  possible, but my conditioning has improved so much since I started Crossfit.

Currently, I am trying to become a more well-rounded athlete, so I have been focusing more on the OLY lifts, and making sure my technique is constantly improving...I really enjoy the metcons, and try to maximize my efforts everyday, but I know that improving my technique will only help get stronger, and more well-rounded. In addition, I have been focused on improving my diet, which isn't bad to begin with, but I hold myself accountable by tracking my calories and try to eat healthier on a daily basis.

I have several great memories, but my first, was probably when I entered my first CF competition, and saw at least 30 CF Jaguar Members come out to support everyone who competed that day. I wasn't expecting it, and it truly showed what this community is all about."

August 2014: "I joined Crossfit Jaguar one year ago, and I can honestly say that it was the best decision I made for my health and fitness.  At almost 41 years old, I am in the best shape of my life and I am continuously striving to become better.  Crossfit Jaguar has become more than just a place for me to workout....It has become a community, and I have formed some genuine friendships.  The culture at "The Jag," from Paula and the rest of the coaches, to the members, is one of support and dedication to helping you become healthier, and reach your personal goals.  The constant variation in workouts each day creates a new challenge and something fun to look forward to each time you walk into the "box."  I thoroughly enjoy being part of the CF Jaguar family."
